SMIT Joins CI Plus Partnership

Shenzhen-14th June 2011_ State Micro Technology Corporation (SMIT), a leading global CAM manufacturer, today announced that it has joined the CI Plus LLP as its seventh partner.

In August 2009, SMIT became the first CAM manufacturer to commercially launch CI PLUS CAMs for Ziggo, the largest cable operator in the Netherlands. Since then, SMIT has successfully completed integration of CI Plus standard into its products with other leading Conditional Access System (CAS) partners, including NDS, Conax, Irdeto, China DIGITAL TV, and Viaccess.

About CI Plus Specification

The CI Plus Specification is a technical specification that adds additional security and features to the proven DVB Common Interface (CI) Standard that will allow CI Plus compatible consumer electronics devices, such as Integrated Digital Televisions and Set Top Boxes, access to a wide range of Pay TV Services via plug-in CI Plus Modules wherever the CI Plus Technology is supported by the local Pay TV PROVIDER.
